Time Play Teachable - Valentine Lines Up the Tag & Touch

In this Tmac's Teachable Moment, we spot HP Umpire Junior Valentine lining up Guardians baserunner Steven Kwan's touch of home plate as the Angels tagged baserunner Amed Rosario at third base for the final out of the inning. This is a time play and this video is all about time play techniques for the umpire-in-chief.

This example is also a reminder that Time Plays can occur when play begins with less than two out (the precise formula is that if the number of outs added to the number of runners on base equals or is greater than three, you've got yourself a potential time play situation).
