Injury Scout - Jim Reynolds Exits in Houston

HP Umpire Jim Reynolds left Tuesday's game in Houston several innings after a foul ball to the mask.

With one out and in the top of the 2nd inning, Royals batter Hunter Dozier fouled a 1-1 95-mph fastball from Astros pitcher Luis Garcia into Reynolds' traditional-style facemask.

Tmac's Teachables - Quinn Wolcott's Stolen Bases

In this Tmac's Teachable Moments video, we look at 2B Umpire Quinn Wolcott officiating a stolen base attempt during two separate games.

By comparing and contrasting the two plays, we see how Wolcott responds when the catcher's throw is to both sides of second base, keeping a special eye out not just for how the fielder receives the throw, but for how the runner slides into the base.

Finally, we see how Wolcott adjusts his position based on the action at second base in order to best officiate the entirety of the plays.
