During Thursday afternoon's Cardinals-Rockies game, Rockies batter Josh Fuentes fouled a 92-mph 1-2 fastball from Cardinals pitcher Miles Mikolas into the lower jaw portion of Davis' traditional-style facemask. Davis immediately exited the game following a visit from the Rockies training staff.
