With none out and none on, Pillar took a 0-0 fastball from Rays pitcher Chris Archer for a called first strike before grounding out on a 1-2 slider. Replays indicate the first pitch was located over the outer edge of home plate and knee-high (px .832, pz 1.654 [sz_bot 1.535]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Rays were leading, 4-1. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 6-5.
