MLB Ejections 104-5 - Chris Conroy (1-2; SF x2)
HP Umpire Chris Conroy ejected Giants Manager Bruce Bochy (ball two call; QOCY) in the top of the 2nd and Pitching Coach Dave Righetti (ball four call; QOCN) in the top of the 9th inning of the Pirates-Giants game. In the 2nd, ith two out and two on, Pirates batter Andrew McCutchen took a 1-0 curveball from Giants pitcher Matt Cain for a called ball before hitting a home run on an ensuing 3-1 curveball. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer half of home plate and above the midpoint (px .427, pz 3.227 [sz_top 3.260 / MOE 3.177]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Pirates were leading, 6-0. In the 9th, with two out and two on, Pirates batter Francisco Cervelli took a 3-2 cutter from Giants pitcher Kyle Crick for a called fourth ball. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the outer edge of home plate and thigh-high (px .781, pz 1.932), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Pirates were leading, 10-3. The Pirates ultimately won the contest, 10-3.
This is Chris Conroy (98)'s first, second ejection of the 2017 MLB regular season.
