2015 No-Hitter 7, Tony Randazzo (1; Max Scherzer)

HP Umpire Tony Randazzo called Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer's no-hitter against the Mets, the seventh of 2015, and Scherzer's second of the season. Randazzo was joined for Game 2 of Saturday's Nationals-Mets doubleheader by 1B Umpire Jim Wolf, 2B Umpire and Crew Chief Gerry Davis, and 3B Sean Barber. This is Randazzo's first career MLB no-hitter; regular crewmate Phil Cuzzi, who had the plate for Game 1 of the twin-bill, called the most recent no-hitter amongst the crew, Phillies P Cole Hamels' no-no against the Cubs on July 25, 2015.

Saturday's is the first MLB no-hitter since August 30, 2015, CHC-LAD (Pat Hoberg; Jake Arrieta).

Randazzo received 49 callable pitches from Scherzer, a total of 29 balls and 20 called strikes. The look:

Balls: 28 called balls outside of strike zone / 1 called ball within strike zone = 28/29 = 96.6% Accuracy.
Strikes: 18 called strikes inside strike zone / 2 called strikes outside strike zone = 18/20 = 90.0% Accuracy.
Total Raw Accuracy Score = 46/49 = 93.9% Accuracy (+1 for Scherzer).

HP Umpire Bob Davidson ejected Mets P Hansel Robles and Manager Terry Collins for throwing at Phillies batter Cameron Rupp in the bottom of the 6th inning of the Mets-Phillies game. With one out and none on, Rupp took a 2-2 fastball from Robles for a called third ball. Replays indicate the pitch was located inside and head-high, resulting in a bench-clearing incident; warnings had previously been issued, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the Mets were leading, 5-3. The Phillies ultimately won the contest, 7-5.

These are Bob Davidson (61)'s third and fourth ejections of 2015.

This is the 100th Manager ejection of 2015.

Dana DeMuth Works 4,000th MLB Game

DeMuth is just the 22nd umpire to officiate at least 4,000 Major League games. Tim Welke was the most recent umpire to accomplish the feat, calling his 4,000th on April 13, 2014. Joe West and Gerry Davis are the other active umpires to have officiated in excess of 4,000 games, with West recently passing Tom Connolly (4,768) to take over third place on the all-time list for most games officiated.

DeMuth has appeared in three All-Star Games, nine Division Series, five Championship Series, and five World Series since his 1983 National League debut. He most recently ejected White Sox Manager Robin Ventura for arguing crewmate Nauert's no catch (safe) call on September 1, 2013.

DeMuth, who is from Ohio, also served as one of the Major League umpires assigned to officiate the 2009 World Baseball Classic, working the WBC's Tokyo round.
