Umpire Brian Gorman worked his 3,000th career MLB game Tuesday night in Washington, DC, where the Nationals hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks. Crew Chief Gorman served as 3B Umpire alongside HP Umpire Mark Carlson, 1B Umpire Gabe Morales and 2B Umpire Tripp Gibson as the Nats defeated the D-Backs 5-4.
Gorman, who worked his first National League game in 1991 before joining the full-time staff three years later, joins his father Tom Gorman in officiating over 3,000 games. In all, Tom called 3,804 NL games during his career, which spanned from 1951 through 1977. Brian has officiated 84 playoff games, including one Wild Card Game, 10 Division Series, five League Championship Series, and three World Series. He has also worked two All-Star Games.
Gorman most recently ejected Orioles Manager Buck Showalter on June 4, 2015, his 48th career ejection.
