With one out and none on, Cain took a 2-1 splitter from Rays pitcher Steve Geltz for a called second strike. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the inner edge home plate and thigh high (px -.745, pz 2.437), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Royals were leading, 7-3. The Royals ultimately won the contest, 8-3.
