1B Umpire Jeff Nelson ejected Mariners Manger Lloyd McClendon for arguing a Replay Review (baserunner placement) decision that overturned 2B Umpire Pat Hoberg's HR call in the top of the 7th inning of the Astros-Mariners game. With one out and none on, Astros batter Robbie Grossman hit a 3-1 fastball from Mariners pitcher Brandon Maurer on a fly ball toward the right field wall, where it was deflected by right fielder Michael Saunders to center fielder Austin Jackson and reversed to a triple following Crew Chief Review. Replays indicate the ball did not leave the playing field and that Grossman would have achieved third base, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the game was tied, 1-1. At the time of the ejection, the Mariners were leading, 1-0. The Mariners ultimately won the contest, 4-1.
