HP Umpire Mark Ripperger ejected Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke for arguing ball one and two calls in the bottom of the 9th inning of the Brewers-Padres game. With none out and none on, Padres batter Rene Rivera took consecutive first and second-pitch fastballs from Brewers pitcher Francisco Rodriguez for called first and second balls before hitting a solo home run on the next pitch. Replays indicate both pitches were located off the outer edge of the strike zone and thigh high ([1] px .938, pz 2.610; [2] px 1.312, pz 2.215), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 2-2. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 3-2, in 10 innings.
