Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Phil Cuzzi's no HR (live ball; in play) call in the top of the 1st inning of the Rays-Tigers game. With none out and one on, Rays batter Matt Joyce hit a fly ball to deep right-center field and near the top of the outfield wall. Upon Replay Review as the result of a request by Rays Manager Joe Maddon and initiation by Crew Chief Greg Gibson, Cuzzi's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Rays were leading, 2-0. The Rays ultimately won the contest, 7-3.
