Instant Replay Review upheld 3B Umpire Bill Miller's out (base touch failure; appeal play) call in the bottom of the 4th inning of the Reds-Padres game. With two out and one on, Padres batter Seth Smith hit a line drive to left fielder Chris Heisey as Padres baserunner R1 Irving Falu rounded third and headed for home, crossing home plate without a throw. Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto subsequently appealed Falu's touch of third base by throwing to 3B Ramon Santiago. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Padres Manager Bud Black, Miller's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Padres were leading, 3-0. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 3-0.
