Instant Replay Review overturned 2B Umpire Chad Fairchild's safe call in the top of the 9th inning of the Reds-Padres game. With two out and three on, Reds batter Ryan Ludwick hit a 2-2 slider from Padres pitcher Tim Stauffer on the ground to third baseman Chase Headley, who threw to second baseman Irving Falu as Reds baserunner R1 Todd Frazier slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Padres Manager Bud Black, Fairchild's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Padres were leading, 8-3. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 8-2.
