HP Umpire Toby Basner ejected Pirates pitcher Justin Wilson for throwing at Dodgers batter Justin Turner and 3B Umpire Jeff Nelson ejected Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle for arguing Hughes' ejection (Unsportsmanlike-NEC) in the top of the 7th inning of the Dodgers-Pirates game. With none out and none on, Turner took a 1-0 fastball for a hit by pitch. Replays indicate the pitch was located off the inner edge of home plate and elbow high, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejections, the Pirates were leading, 8-4. The Pirates ultimately won the contest, 12-7.
