Upon Replay Review as the result of a request by Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny and initiation by Crew Chief Bill Miller, Carapazza's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the game was tied, 0-0.
In the 9th, with one out and one on, Cardinals baserunner R1 Peter Bourjos attempted to steal second base off Dodgers catcher Butera, who threw to shortstop Miguel Rojas as Bourjos slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Cardinals Manager Matheny, Everitt's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Dodgers were leading, 1-0. The Dodgers ultimately won the contest, 1-0.
