Instant Replay Review confirmed 2B Umpire Tony Randazzo's safe (pulled foot) call in the bottom of the 2nd inning of the Marlins-Phillies game. With none out and two on, Phillies batter Cody Asche hit a 0-0 fastball from Marlins pitcher Henderson Alvarez on the ground to second baseman Derek Dietrich, who threw to shortstop Ed Lucas as Phillies baserunner R1 Marlon Byrd slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Marlins Manager Mike Redmond, Randazzo's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the game was tied, 0-0.
