Instant Replay Review upheld 1B Umpire Chad Fairchild's safe call (pulled foot) in the bottom of the 1st inning of the Indians-Diamondbacks game. With none out and two on, Diamondbacks batter Paul Goldschmidt hit a 2-2 sinker from Indians pitcher Justin Masterson on the ground to shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, who threw to second baseman Jason Kipnis to first baseman Carlos Santana as Goldschmidt arrived at first base, Diamondbacks baserunner R1 Gerardo Parra out at second. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Indians Manager Terry Francona, Fairchild's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the game was tied, 0-0. The Diamondbacks ultimately won the contest, 9-8, in 14 innings.
