Instant Replay Review upheld 1B Umpire Larry Vanover's safe (pulled foot) call in the top of the 7th inning of the Phillies-Cardinals game. With two out and none on, Phillies batter Marlon Byrd hit a 2-2 changeup from Cardinals pitcher Sam Freeman on the ground to shortstop Jhonny Peralta, who threw to first baseman Matt Adams as Byrd arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny, Vanover's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Phillies were leading, 5-1. The Phillies ultimately won the contest, 5-1.
