Instant Replay Review upheld 1B Umpire Kerwin Danley's out call in the top of the 8th inning of the Cubs-Phillies game. With one out and two on, Cubs batter Nate Schierholtz hit a 1-1 fastball from Phillies pitcher Jake Diekman on the ground to shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who threw to second baseman Chase Utley to first baseman Ryan Howard as Schierholtz arrived at first base, Cubs baserunner R1 Luis Valbuena out at second. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Cubs Manager Rick Renteria, Danley's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Phillies were leading, 7-4. The Phillies ultimately won the contest, 7-4.
