With one out and two on, Orioles batter Adam Jones hit a 1-0 fastball from A's pitcher Fernando Abad on the ground to right fielder Brandon Moss, who threw to catcher Derek Norris as A's baserunner R2 Nick Markakis slid into home plate. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Orioles Manager Buck Showalter, Vanover's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 3-3. The A's ultimately won the contest, 4-3, in 11 innings.
