Instant Replay Review overturned 2B Umpire Mike DiMuro's safe call in the bottom of the 3rd inning of the Yankees-Royals game. With two out and one on, Royals baserunner R1 Nori Aoki attempted to steal second base off Yankees catcher Brian McCann, who threw to second baseman Brian Roberts as Aoki slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Yankees Manager Joe Girardi, DiMuro's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Yankees were leading, 4-1. The Yankees ultimately won the contest, 4-2.
