Instant Replay Review upheld 2B Umpire Chris Conroy's out call in the top of the 5th inning of the Rays-Marlins game. With one out and one on, Rays baserunner R1 Yunel Escobar attempted to steal second base off Marlins pitcher Henderson Alvarez, who threw to second baseman Ed Lucas as Escobar slid into the bag. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Rays Manager Joe Maddon, Conroy's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 0-0.
