HP Umpire Kerwin Danley ejected White Sox Manager Robin Ventura for arguing a ball four call in the bottom of the 8th and Instant Replay Review overturned 3B Umpire Gary Cederstrom's safe call in the bottom of the fourth and HP Umpire Danley's ball four (count; record keeping) call in the top of the 5th inning of the White Sox-Dodgers game. In the 4th, with two out and two on, Dodgers batter Justin Turner hit a 0-0 cutter from White Sox pitcher John Danks on the ground to second baseman Gordon Beckham, who threw to first baseman Jose Abreu to shortstop Alexei Ramirez to third baseman Leury Garcia as Dodgers baserunner R3 Adrian Gonzalez slid into third base, Turner out at first. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by White Sox Manager Robin Ventura, Cederstrom's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the White Sox were leading, 2-0.

In the 5th, with one out and two on, White Sox batter Adam Dunn took a curveball from Dodgers pitcher Josh Beckett for a called fourth ball. Upon Replay Review as the result of an initiation by Crew Chief Gary Cederstrom, Danley's ruling of a walk was reversed and the count adjusted to 3-2, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the White Sox were leading, 2-0.

In the 8th, with one out and one on, Dodger batter Yasiel Puig took a 3-2 splitter from White Sox pitcher Zach Putnam for a called fourth ball. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the inner edge of home plate and below the hollow of the knee (px -.726, pz 1.763 / sz_bot 1.7 [MOE 1.783]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the White Sox were leading, 2-0. The White Sox ultimately won the contest, 2-1.
