HP Umpire Tripp Gibson ejected Athletics 3B Josh Donaldson for arguing a strike one call in the bottom of the 7th inning of the Yankees-Athletics game. With one out and none on, Donaldson took a 0-0 slider from Yankees pitcher David Huff for a called first strike before popping out to catcher John Ryan Murphy in foul territory on the next pitch. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer half of home plate and at the hollow of the knees (px .270, pz 1.546 / sz_bot 1.550 [MOE 1.463]), the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Athletics were leading, 5-1. The Athletics ultimately won the contest, 5-1.
