In the 1st, with one out and none on, Phillies batter Carlos Ruiz hit a 1-2 slider from Marlins pitcher Nathan Eovaldi on the ground to shortstop Ed Lucas, who threw to first baseman Garrett Jones as Ruiz arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Phillies Manager Ryne Sandberg, Barrett's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 0-0.
In the 2nd, with none out and none on, Phillies batter Domonic Brown hit a 3-2 fastball from Marlins pitcher Eovaldi on the ground to shortstop Lucas, deflected by Eovaldi, to first baseman Jones as Brown arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Marlins Manager Mike Redmond, Barrett's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 2-2. The Marlins ultimately won the contest, 14-5.
