Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Lance Barksdale's safe calls in the top of the 5th and bottom of the 6th inning of the Rangers-Rockies game. In the 5th, with one out and none on, Rangers batter Robbie Ross, Jr. hit a 0-0 fasstball from Rockies pitcher Juan Nicasio on the ground to second baseman Charlie Culberson, who threw to first baseman Justin Morneau as Ross arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Rockies Manager Walt Weiss, Barksdale's ruling was reversed. At the time of the review, the Rockies were leading, 3-1.
In the 6th, with one out and one on, Rockies batter Drew Stubbs hit a 1-2 slider from Rangers pitcher Alexi Ogando on the ground to third baseman Adrian Beltre, who threw to first baseman Prince Fielder as Stubbs arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Rangers Manager Ron Washington, Barksdale's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Rockies were leading, 5-1. The Rockies ultimately won the contest, 12-1.
