Instant Replay Review upheld 1B Umpire Larry Vanover's safe call in the top of the 6th inning of the Royals-Blue Jays game. With one out and none on, Royals batter Eric Hosmer hit a 1-2 fastball from Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman on the ground to Stroman, who threw to first baseman Adam Lind as Hosmer arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Blue Jays Manager John Gibbons, Vanover's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Jays were leading, 11-1. The Blue Jays ultimately won the contest, 12-2.
