Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Brian Gorman's out call in the top of the 3rd inning of the Twins-Yankees game. With none out and one on, Twins batter Eduardo Escobar hit a 0-2 splitter from Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka on the ground to first baseman Mark Teixeira, who threw to Tanaka as Escobar arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire, Gorman's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Twins were leading, 1-0. The Yankees ultimately won the contest, 3-1.
