Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Dan Iassogna's fair ball call in the bottom of the 4th inning of the Angels-Mariners game. With none out and none on, Mariners batter Justin Smoak hit a 0-0 fastball from Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson on a line drive to right field near the foul line. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Angels Manager Mike Scioscia, Iassogna's rulings was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Mariners were leading, 2-0. The Mariners ultimately won the contest, 3-1.
