Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Jerry Meals' out call in the bottom of the 1st inning of the Twins-Giants game. With one out and one on, Giants batter Hunter Pence hit a 2-2 slider from Twins pitcher Kyle Gibson on the ground to third baseman Trevor Plouffe, who threw to first baseman Joe Mauer as Pence arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Giants Manager Bruce Bochy, Meals' ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 0-0. The Giants ultimately won the contest, 6-2.
