With one out and one on, White Sox batter Alexei Ramirez hit a 0-0 changeup from Royals pitcher Jason Vargas on the ground to first baseman Eric Hosmer, who threw to pitcher Jason Vargas as Ramirez slid headfirst into first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by White Sox Manager Robin Ventura, Barber's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Royals were leading, 6-5. The White Sox ultimately won the contest, 7-6.
