Instant Replay Review overturned 2B Umpire Laz Diaz's safe call in the bottom of the 7th inning of the Royals-Mariners game. With two out and two on, Mariners baserunner R1 Robinson Cano attempted to advance on a ball in the dirt, Royals catcher Salvador Perez to second baseman Johnny Giavotella as Cano slid into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Royals Manager Ned Yost, Diaz's ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Mariners were leading, 3-1. The Mariners ultimately won the contest, 3-1.
