MLB Instant Replay Review 244: Mike Winters (06)

Instant Replay Review overturned 1B Umpire Mike Winters' safe call in the bottom of the 4th inning of the Astros-Tigers game. With two out and none on, Tigers batter Austin Jackson hit a 1-2 fastball from Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel on the ground to second baseman Jose Altuve, who threw to first baseman Jesus Guzman as Jackson arrived at first base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Astros Manager Bo Porter, Winters' ruling was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Tigers were leading, 2-0. The Astros ultimately won the contest, 6-2.
