MLB Instant Replay Review 241: Will Little (02)

Instant Replay Review upheld 2B Umpire Will Little's out call in the bottom of the 2nd inning of the Royals-Padres game. With two out and two on, Padres batter Alexi Amarista hit a 2-2 cutter from Royals pitcher James Shields on the ground to first baseman Eric Hosmer, who threw to shortstop Alcides Escobar as Padres baserunner R2 Cameron Maybin slid back into second base. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Padres Manager Bud Black, Little's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Royals were leading, 3-0. The Royals ultimately won the contest, 8-0.
