With one out and two on, Orioles batter Adam Jones attempted to strike a 1-2 slider from Royals pitcher Greg Holland, ruled a foul ball by Segal. Replays indicate Jones's bat did not appear to make contact with the pitch, the call was incorrect. At the time of the ejection, the Royals were leading, 1-0. The Royals ultimately won the contest, 1-0.
