Instant Replay Review upheld 1B Umpire Laz Diaz's foul ball call in the bottom of the 5th inning of the Athletics-Rangers game. With none out and two on, Rangers batter Elvis Andrus hit a 0-1 fastball from A's pitcher Scott Kazmir on a line drive past first base and near the foul line. Upon Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Rangers Manager Ron Washington, Diaz's ruling was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the A's were leading, 9-1. The A's ultimately won the contest, 9-3.
