Instant Replay Review reversed 1B Umpire Larry Vanover's safe call in the top of the 7th inning of the Rockies-Dodgers game. With none out and none on, Rockies batter Brandon Barnes hit a 3-2 fastball from Dodgers pitcher Brandon League on the ground to second baseman Justin Turner, who threw to first baseman Adrian Gonzalez as Barnes arrived at first base. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Dodgers Manager Don Mattingly, Vanover's ruling that Gonzalez did not catch the ball and tag first base ahead of Barnes' arrival was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Rockies were leading, 6-1. The Rockies ultimately won the contest, 6-1.
