Instant Replay Review overturned 2B Umpire Bob Davidson's out call in the top of the 7th inning of the Phillies-Diamondbacks game. With one out and three on, Phillies batter Tony Gwynn Jr. hit a 0-1 fastball from Diamondbacks pitcher Randall Delgado on the ground and off the glove of shortstop Cliff Pennington, fielded by center fielder A.J. Pollock who threw to second baseman Aaron Hill as Phillies baserunner R1 Cody Asche slid back into second base. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a challenge by Phillies Manager Ryne Sandberg, Davidson's ruling that Hill tagged Asche while off his base was reversed, the call was incorrect. At the time of the review, the Diamondbacks were leading, 4-3. The Diamondbacks ultimately won the contest, 5-4.
