Instant Replay Review confirmed 2B Umpire Clint Fagan's no HR (live ball) call in the top of the 1st inning of the Nationals-Marlins game. With two out and none on, Nationals batter Jayson Werth hit a 1-2 fastball from Marlins pitcher Brad Hand in the air to deep left-center field and off the top of the wall. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a request by Nationals Manager Matt Williams and initiation by Crew Chief Joe West, Fagan's ruling that the ball hit the wall and remained in the field of play was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 0-0. The Nationals ultimately won the contest, 9-2.
