Instant Replay Review confirmed HP Umpire Adrian Johnson's Rule 7.13 violation no-call (out) in the top of the 7th inning of the Nationals-Braves game. With two out and two on, Nationals baserunner R2 Adam LaRoche attempted to score on a wild pitch by Braves pitcher Jordan Walden, who received the throw from catcher Evan Gattis as LaRoche slid into home plate. Upon Instant Replay Review as the result of a request by Nationals Manager Matt Williams and initiation by Crew Chief Larry Vanover, Johnson's ruling that Walden did not violate Rule 7.13 in that he did not illegally block access to home plate while not in possession of the ball was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 5-5. The Braves ultimately won the contest, 7-6, in 10 innings.
