MLB Instant Replay Review 009: Chris Guccione (01)

Instant Replay Review upheld 1B Umpire Chris Guccione's safe call in the bottom of the 4th inning of the Giants-Diamondbacks game. With two out and one on, Giants pitcher Matt Cain threw to first baseman Brandon Belt as Diamondbacks baserunner R1 A.J. Pollock dove back into first base. Upon instant replay review as the result of a challenge by Giants Manager Bruce Bochy, Guccione's ruling that Belt did not tag Pollock before Pollock's return and touch of first base was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Giants were leading, 4-2. The Diamondbacks ultimately won the contest, 5-4.
