HP Umpire Lance Barrett ejected Indians 2B Jason Kipnis for arguing a strike one call in the top of the 3rd inning of the Indians-Tigers game. With two out and three on, Kipnis took a 0-0 fastball from Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander for a called first strike before fouling off a 0-1 curveball and swinging and missing at a 0-2 curveball in the dirt for strike three. At the time of the ejection, the contest was tied, 0-0. The Tigers ultimately won the contest, 7-5.
