MiLB & MLB Fill-In Umpire Stu Scheurwater (Regina, CA). |
Scheurwater is on the Pacific Coast League umpire roster for the 2014 season, which is his 3rd season in the PCL and AAA. After graduating from the Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School in 2006 (and sitting out the remainder of the year due to a delay with Homeland Security's processing of his visa paperwork), Scheurwater began his career in Minor League Baseball in 2007's Arizona League and was also assigned to the Northwest, South Atlantic, Carolina and Texas Leagues before his promotion to Triple-A. He worked the 2012 Arizona Fall League.
Scheurwater was born in Saskatoon and resides in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and wears the sleeve uniform number 85, last worn by Vic Carapazza, at the Major League level. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound May, who makes his MLB debut at the age of 30, was married during the 2013-14 offseason and
made the Call-Up list for the first time in 2014. He is the only active Canadian umpire on the fill-in slate.
"Bellino's ruling that Hill did not tag Campana while off his base was affirmed, the call was correct."
ReplyDeleteThat should say "Bonifacio", not "Campana".
This hit the knob first. Foul Ball
ReplyDeleteGood ejection -- that's why you do your homework on match ups and history. Clemens is an idiot- he missed him the first time he tired to hit him so instead of letting it go- he tires to be a tough guy and go after him again. I'm surprised the benches didn't clear.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Basner needs some WD-40 on that ejection mechanic.
ReplyDeleteWhat does Ron Washington have to do with this ejection? Why is he shown in MLB's video clip?
ReplyDeletecongrats Stu. I still remember all year in 2010 while you were teaching us you kept calling left field right. So we still lovingly refer to it as canadian right field.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Stu, from a fellow Canadian and fellow umpire who wears #85
