Instant replay reversed 2B Umpire Marvin Hudson's safe call in the bottom of the 3rd inning of the Yankees-Twins game. With one out and one on, Twins baserunner R1 Aaron Hicks attempted to steal second base on a 2-0 pitch from Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka and throw from catcher Francisco Cervelli to second baseman Dean Anna. Upon instant replay review as the result of a challenge by Yankees Manager Joe Girardi, Hudson's ruling that Anna did not tag Hicks prior to Hicks touching second base was overturned, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the Twins were leading, 1-0. The Yankees ultimately won the contest, 5-4.
