Instant replay reversed 1B Umpire Lance Barrett's safe call in the top of the 5th inning of the Angels-Padres game. With none out and none on, Angels batter Matt Long bunted a 1-0 slider from Padres pitcher Eric Stults to Stults, who threw to first baseman Xavier Nady as Long arrived at first place. Upon instant replay review as the result of a challenge by Padres Manager Bud Black, Barrett's ruling that Morneau did not catch the throw and tag first base prior to Long's touch arrival was overturned, the call was incorrect. At the time of the instant replay review, the Padres were leading, 3-1. The Padres ultimately won the contest, 4-2.
