Instant replay affirmed 2B Umpire Jim Reynolds' safe call in the bottom of the 5th inning of the Reds-Angels game. With none out and one on, Angels batter Hank Conger hit a 1-0 pitch from Reds pitcher Sam LeCure to right fielder Roger Bernadina, who threw home as Conger attempted to take second base on the throw, Reds catcher Brayan Pena throwing to second baseman Ramon Santiago in an attempt to retire Conger.
