1B Umpire Jeff Gosney ejected Nationals LF Bryce Harper for arguing an out call in the top of the 4th inning of the Nationals-Cardinals game. With none out and none on, Harper hit a 2-2 pitch from Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright to second baseman Mark Ellis, who threw to first baseman Matt Adams as Harper arrived at first base. Replays indicate Adams caught Ellis' throw and tagged first base prior to Harper's arrival, the call was correct. At the time of the ejection, the Cardinals were leading, 3-0. The Cardinals ultimately won the contest, 3-2.

For Those keeping score that was Lance Barksdale CC and Stevie Wonder as Replay official
ReplyDeleteI think the Replay Official was wrong on both plays here. I am still trying to figure out who it was.
ReplyDeleteWho is the better umpire...Lance Barksdale, Lance Barrett, or Lance Schoenwald?
ReplyDeleteHOSMER was upset because Herzog called a 3rd strike that was inside on his first at bat. He was complaing to the inconsistency of the calls. Morrison and Moose also were unhappy with the wide zone. For Hosmer, review his first at bat strikeout to better understand his frustration.
ReplyDeleteDid the Nats have any challenges? Curious. I would have thought that they would have challenged just to keep him in the game. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteThe game was televised, but was not a replay game for whatever reason.
ReplyDeleteI think he got away with to much stuff in high school. Did not spend enough time in the minors to know what he can and can not get away with in the pro's. No pro umpire is going to put up with a 20 year old douche. Just my 2 cents.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else having problems with seeing the videos this year?
