MLB Ejection S4: Bill Miller (S1; Ron Roenicke)

2B Umpire Bill Miller ejected Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke for arguing a safe call by HP Chris Guccione in the bottom of the 9th inning of the Brewers-Diamondbacks game. With none out and two on, Diamondbacks batter Chris Owings hit a pitch from Brewers pitcher Zach Duke to second baseman Jeff Bianchi, who threw to catcher Martin Maldonado as Diamondbacks baserunner R3 Shelley Duncan slid into home plate. The game was not televised; therefore the issues of whether the tag was applied and whether Duncan ran more than three feet away from his base path are inconclusive, the call was irrecusable. At the time of the ejection, the game was tied, 5-5. The Diamondbacks ultimately won the contest, 6-5.

This is Bill Miller (26)'s 1st ejection of Spring Training.
Bill Miller now has 0 points in the UEFL (0 Previous + 0 AAA + 0 Irrecusable Call = 0).
Crew Chief Bill Miller now has 0 points in the UEFL's Crew Division (0 Previous + 0 Irrecusable = 0).
*Relevant Rule 7.08(a)(1) states, "a runner is out when—He runs more than three feet away from his base path to avoid being tagged unless his action is to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. A runner’s base path is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely."

I think you mean Nady as Morneau plays for Colorado......

It looks like his eyes are drawn to the player running by instead of the tag. I can understand why he started his rotation (to get a better straight on view) but I think the fact that he continued to drift and his eyes ended up tracking the runner rather than the glove increased the chance of missing that play...
