  1. It's their theme for the year. Now that instant replay has been expanded - and just wait for the first call of the year that isn't overturned when the talking heads think it should be - it's going to be Puig is out of control and must be stopped. Similar to stories about Bryce Harper in his rookie/sophomore year.

  2. Looks like both Reynolds and Knight are either injured or on vacation. Pretty crazy to see a crew with 1 guy who was an MLB umpire before last year on it. DJ Reyburn and Sean Barber are listed on Gameday as the other two umpires.

  3. Good little feature with Country Joe about the new instant replay system in New York. Though I have to question the "this is the best thing to happen to umpires" conclusion. Unless of course he means the hiring spree and rotating to a cushy room for a series.

  4. Make it or break it time for DJ & Sean Barber!

  5. Jim Reynolds is there, it appears DJ Reyburn is the one that is not.

  6. Puig robbed of a brilliant assist from right field... By his own teammate. Instant replay will not fix that. Trim those sideburns, Mattingly!

  7. Oh great. We now are getting the ESPN strike zone box overlay that shakes whoever the camera moves around.

  8. Mlb stringers must still be in Spring training mode.

  9. And Cubby has his first Rockette kick of the regular season.

  10. Fantastic mechanic perfectly captured in that photo above. Btw that UEFL umpires graphic should absolutely be used in major league stadiums for the umpire lineup cards on the jumbotrons.

  11. I know - I've been yelling at Cubby to pull the trigger on a few of these close pitches because I love watching him punch out batters.

  12. Why is Petco Park full of Dodger fans? Oh because it's the padres.

  16. It still continues to baffle me that MLB umpires get considerable vacation time during the course of a championship season.

  17. It's not that BK is on vacation, he's on Gerry Davis crew which is short handed in its own right due to injuries and Quinn wolcott being one of the full time aaa guys mlb didn't want to hire with the two crew expansion for instant replay.

  18. LOL Culbreth's leg guards look just like those crazy knee contraptions from Manos. MST3K reference FTW.
