MiLB Ejection of Week (Umpire Kelvin Bultron / Buffalo Bisons Manager Marty Brown)
|
Bultron ejects Brown for arguing no-call. |
3B Umpire Kelvin Bultron ejected Buffalo Bisons Manager Marty Brown for arguing an interference no-call in the bottom of the 2nd inning of the Bisons-Tides game. With one out and one on, Norfolk batter Xavier Avery grounded to second baseman Jim Negrych, resulting in a single. Replays indicate baserunner R1 Trayvon Robinson appeared to make contact with Negrych and, in doing so, interfered with Negrych's ability to field a batted ball, constituting interference pursuant to OBR Rule 7.09(j) ["
he fails to avoid a fielder who is attempting to field a batted ball"]. At the time of the ejection, the contest was tied, 1-1. The Bisons ultimately won the contest, 7-4.
